In addition to our dedication to helping patients maintain their healthiest smiles, we also want them to have a beautiful smile they’ll love to share. Studies show that people who smile more often are happier and live longer, and the Brookwood Dental Associates team wants to give our patients every reason to smile more. That’s why we offer a wide range of cosmetic dentistry solutions that repair damaged teeth, conceal flaws, and give patients picture-perfect smiles. If you’re interested in a cosmetic dental plan, the first step is to call our office to schedule a consultation. We’ll review your smile, discuss your cosmetic goals, and help you find treatment options that meet your needs and fit your budget. Our Lansdale, PA dental office also welcomes patients from Harleysville and other nearby communities.
Veneers are thin sheaths of dental grade porcelain that attach to the front surfaces of teeth to conceal any number of cosmetic flaws including chips, cracks, stains, and gaps. Before they’re placed, porcelain veneers resemble eggshells. These thin tooth covers are custom crafted by our dental lab to perfect even the most flawed smiles. Patients interested in porcelain veneers should plan to visit our office at least two times. During the initial visit, we remove a small amount of dental structure. Then, we capture impressions that will be used by our dental lab to craft the veneer. Finally, we place a temporary veneer that allows patients to get used to the look and feel. Once we receive the final custom solution from the lab, patients come back to see, and we carefully exchange their temporary for a custom porcelain veneer.
A brand-name specialty type of veneer, Lumineers offer similar results compared with traditional porcelain veneers when it comes to improving the appearance of smiles that have numerous chips, cracks, stains, and gaps. However, we don’t usually need to remove any tooth enamel in preparation for placing Lumineers because these veneers are made from even thinner material that will not protrude noticeably from teeth. Like veneers, patients should plan to visit our office two times. During the initial visit, we capture bite impressions for our lab. We don’t usually need to prepare teeth in anyway or place a temporary veneer. Once the lab has crafted patients’ Lumineers, they return to our office where we’ll attach the Lumineers to the front facing surfaces of their smiles.
Many patients visit our office who want to brighten their smiles. This is a common request because daily consumption of colorful foods, coffee, wine, and certain medications all lead to yellowing or discoloration of tooth enamel. Aging even causes teeth to appear darker. Unfortunately, all the store bought whiteners promise big results that they can’t achieve, but our Lansdale, PA dentists can help you get the brilliant smile of your dreams. We offer in-office whitening using the EPIC laser whitening system. With just a few short applications of this laser, patients see results up to ten shades brighter. Patients who want to lighten their smiles more gradually may benefit from using our take-home whitening trays. These custom crafted application trays and professional-grade whitening gel offer the same dazzling results in about two weeks of daily application.
If you have a number of minor cosmetic flaws likes chips, cracks, or stains, dental bonding may be an option. Like porcelain veneers and Lumineers, bonding conceals damage and irregularities. However, there’s typically no need to remove any dental structure, and the entire process is completed in just one appointment. The process is simple. Using a malleable, putty-like composite resin that has been shaded to match natural tooth color, we cover stains, fill gaps, and reseal cracks in teeth. Once the resin is in position, we harden the material with a curing light. Finally, we polish and seal the resin in place leaving patients with flawless smiles.
If you want to straighten your smile quickly, comfortably, and without a mouth full of braces, Brookwood Dental Associates may have just what you’re looking for. The Invisalign orthodontic system corrects even severely misaligned teeth using a series of clear, plastic alignment trays rather than the metal brackets and wires used for traditional braces. Each set of aligners represents one step closer to the ideal alignment. Patients wear the alignment trays for about two weeks. Then, they exchange the current set for the next in the series. Invisalign is a great option for busy patients. With just a few short checkups every few weeks, most patients complete treatment in ten to twelve months. If for some reason, we’re unable to correct your smile alignment with Invisalign, we may refer you to visit our sister practice, Dental Innovations, to receive more advanced orthodontic care.
